Havana’s International Book Fair: Algeria, guest of honor, to present multiple programs


An Algerian delegation, led by Minister of Culture Azzedine Mihoubi, will pay a visit to the Cuban capital, on Thursday, to take part in Havana’s International Book Fair, scheduled for Feb. 7-17, Ministry of Culture said in a statement.

Algeria, the guest of honor of this cultural rendez-vous held in the Cuban capital, will be present, also, through cinema and music, among others.

Four films, subtitled in Spanish, “Algiers’ Parfume” by Rachid Belhadj and “Until the end of time” by Yasmine Chouikh, “Zabana” by Said Ould Khelifa and “Yemma” by Djamila Sahraoui will be screened at the event.

A photography exhibition on cultural heritage and a musical concert by the Cuban Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Amine Kouider, conductor of the Opera Symphony Orchestra of Algiers, are scheduled.

Organized for the first time in 1982, Havana International Book Fair, which has become annual since 2000, is considered a flagship event in Cuba with just over half a million visitors.
