ALGIERS- The chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Community, Abdelhamid Si Afif, has superviszed at the People’s National Assembly (Lower House of Parliament) the setting up of Algeria-Ukraine Parliamentary Friendship Group, in the presence of Ukraine’s ambassador to Algeria, Maksym Subkh, a house’s statement has said.
“On January 31, a solemn ceremony to launch the activities of the Algeria-Ukraine Inter-Parliamentary Group was held at the People’s National Assembly of Algeria with the participation of Ambassador of Ukraine to Algeria Maksym Subkh. The importance of intensifying political dialogue, developing mutually beneficial trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation with Ukraine was underscored,” the Embassy of Ukraine in Algeria reports.
The Algerian lawmakers also stressed the need to maintain regular inter-parliamentary contacts between the People’s National Assembly of Algeria and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in order to exchange official visits and expand the existing legal framework of relations. In their opinion, it will have a positive impact on the increase in bilateral trade and will contribute to the implementation of joint projects in the field of agriculture, industry, energy, etc.
