Counterterrorism: Terrorist arrested in Skikda, another surrenders in Adrar


“As part of the fight against terrorism, a combined detachment of People’s National Army, arrested, on 31 January 2019 in Skikda, the terrorist “Litim Adel” alias ” Abdelfattah “, who joined the terrorist groups in 2014,” said, on Friday, a statement from the Ministry of National Defense.

In this aspect, another terrorist surrendered to the military authorities in Adrar. It is “Mellouki M’barek”, known as “Abu Mohamed”, who was in possession of a (01) Kalashnikov-type machine pistol, a (01) sniper rifle, four (04) magazines and a quantity of ammunition of different calibres.

As part of the fight against smuggling and organized crime, a detachment of ANP intercepted, in Djanet, (04) miners and seized (04) all-terrain vehicles, (06) metal detectors , (05) generators and (06) mobile phones, while (02) vehicles were seized and attempts to smuggle (8272) liters of fuel were foiled in Souk-Ahras, Tébessa and El-Taref.

In the same context, elements of the National Gendarmerie arrested in Jijel, Ghardaia and El Oued, (10) people and seized (03) vehicles, one (01) shotgun, ( 238) psychotropic tablets and (800) units of different drinks.

In addition, elements of the National Gendarmerie and Border Guard arrested (34) illegal immigrants of different nationalities in Tiaret, Tlemcen and Skikda.
