ALGIERS- A new agreement on the extradition of criminals between Algeria and France was signed Sunday, in Algiers, by Minister of Justice Tayeb Louh and his French counterpart Nicole Belloubet.

The signing of this agreement is part of the cooperation between Algeria and France, especially following the entry into force, last May, of the new convention on judicial cooperation in criminal matters.

This convention will allow a “fluidity in the exchanges and a facility in the implementation of certain requests for extradition of criminals, especially as “France considers Algeria as being a strategic partner in the fight against terrorism.

Nicole Belloubet began a two-day visit to Algeria, on Sunday, at the invitation of her counterpart, Tayeb Louh.
