Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel will pay a working visit to the United States of America on January 28 and 29, 2019, heading a large multi-sectoral delegation, where he will co-chair in Washington with the Secretary of State Michael Pompeo, the 4th session of the Algerian-American Strategic Dialogue, indicates Foreign Affairs Ministry in a statement.
Discussions will focus on various issues of cooperation between Algeria and the United States of America, as well as the prospects for its development. The two ministers will also address regional and international issues of common interest. During his stay in Washington, the Minister of Foreign Affairs will hold talks with members of the US Congress, according to the same source.
He will also make a presentation at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) on the fight against terrorism and national reconciliation. Mr Messahel will also meet representatives of the national community established in the United States of America.
Created in 2012, as a high-level cooperation framework, the Algerian-American Strategic Dialogue “reflects the excellent relations between Algeria and the United States and the common will of the two countries to work towards their strengthening and diversification, “the statement concluded.
