ALGIERS-At the invitation of his counterpart Abdelkader Messahel, Russia’s Foreign Minister, Serguei Lavrov will be on a two-day visit to Algeria as of today, Wednesday, the Ministry announced Tuesday in a communiqué.
The communiqué underlines that this visit “is part of the political dialogue and regular consultation between the two friendly countries established since the signing of the Joint Declaration on the Strategic Partnership between Algeria and the Russian Federation, on April, 2, 2001, at the end of President Abdelaziz BOUTEFLIKA’s state visit to Russia.
During this visit, the officials will exchange views on major regional and international issues.
In this context, the situation in Libya and the recent developments will be at the center of the talks, as will the situation in the Sahel, Mali, Syria and the evolution of the Western Sahara issue,” pointed out the same statement.
