Algerian population reaches 43 million, sharp rise in marriage recorded

The Algerian population reached 43 million inhabitants on January 1, 2019 (against 42.2 million inhabitants on January 1, 2018 and 41.3 million inhabitants on January 1, 2017, and 40.4 million on January 1, 2016), pointed out  the Population Director at the Ministry of Health.

Guest at Ennaher TV, the official highlighted that the Algerian population reached 43 million inhabitants on January 1, 2019 (against 42.2 million inhabitants on January 1, 2018 and 41.3 million inhabitants on January 1, 2017, and 40.4 million on January 1, 2016), pointed out the Population Director at the Ministry of Health.

“The Algerian population has, thus, increased by 900,000 in one year” he added.

“Algeria has recorded a sharp rise in marriage compared to the 2000s,” according to him. This rise in marital unions, partly, explains the growing number of births in the country.
