Retired Major-General Ali Ghediri is expected to announce, this Saturday, his candidacy for the upcoming presidential elections, due to take place on Thursday, April 18, 2019.

 

In the aftermath of the President of the Republic, Abdelaziz Bouteflika’s Presidential Decree convening the electorate for the Presidential Elections scheduled for Thursday, April 18, 2019, the retired Major-General Ali Ghediri is expected to announce, this Saturday, his condidacy for the upcoming presidential elections.

 
With a long military career and a Ph.D. in political science and a magister degree in International Relations, Ghediri sparked a negative reaction from the Ministry of National Defense after contributions published in the daily El-Watan, calling ANP Chief of Staff, Ahmed Gaïd Salah, to involve the army, a request declined by this latter.
