Energy: Sonatrach, Exxon to ink deal, trading JV in first half


State-owned company sonatrach will ink a deal with Exxon Mobil Corp, setting up a trade joint venture before the first half of 2019, Sonatrach’s CEO said on Monday.

The official expressed satisfaction with the results achieved, highlighting that the company is moving on the right track for the conclusion of the agreements and partnerships.

“We are very optimistic and things are moving in the right direction so we will conclude with Exxon and have our trade JV,” Abdelmoumen Ould Kaddour told reporters.

In this aspect, the official did not give further details.

It is worth mentioning that the state energy firm had talks with 14 international companies over a joint venture to trade oil and gas products.
