The participants in the work of the International Union of Lawyers (UIA) awarded, Friday in Algiers, the President of the Republic, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, a distinction in recognition of his efforts in favor of the defense corporation and the judicial system in general.
In a speech on this occasion, Algiers’ bâtonnier, Mr. Abdelmadjid Selini said that “the sponsorship of this meeting reflects the strong support of his excellence to the legal profession and the judicial system, in general”, affirming that the latter had experienced “a qualitative leap in legislation, jurisprudence, justice and training”.
Recalling the content of President Bouteflika’s message on the occasion of the celebration of National Lawyers Day last March, Mr. Selini said that the corporation “aspires to be at the height of the defense mission”.
This international seminar on the role of lawyers in economic development will allow participants to “take stock of new developments, address issues and define the perspectives of the profession,” he said.
For his part, UIA President Issouf Baadhio expressed his “sincere gratitude to President Bouteflika for sponsoring the work of this meeting”.
