Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel held, Thursday in Copenhagen, talks with his Danish counterpart, Anders Samuelsen, on bilateral relations and ways of strengthening them.
Mr Messahel, who is on an official visit to Denmark, held with his Danish counterpart discussions about bilateral relations and ways and means of strengthening them, particularly in the economic field through increased trade and the promotion of investment in the the two countries”.
The two ministers reviewed the “state of bilateral cooperation in various fields, welcoming “the progress made in this respect and expressing their commitment to continue their efforts to explore new areas of cooperation.”
Relations between Algeria and the European Union were also discussed during this meeting.
The two ministers also exchanged views on regional and international issues of common interest, including the situation in the region, Mali, Libya, Syria and Western Sahara, as well as issues related to the fight against terrorism, de-radicalization policies and the phenomenon of illegal migration.
At the end of the discussions, the two ministers signed a declaration of intent on cooperation in the maritime field.
They also announced the finalization of the discussions on the agreement on non-double taxation, to be inked soon.
