Many private investors benefited, on Saturday in Boumerdès, from concession contracts and building permits necessary for the launching of their projects in Zemmouri specialized zone of activities in fishing and aquaculture ( east of the province).
The concession contracts and building permits were handed over during a ceremony chaired by Abdelkader Bouazghi, Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries.
On site, a presentation on this area “unique in its kind at the national level”, was presented to the Minister, who, then, proceeded to the laying the first stone of realization of a project for the manufacture of equipment for aquaculture farming.
According to the explanations provided to Mr. Bouazghi by the consulting firm in charge of this private project, this investment is expected to come into operation in March 2020.
The project’s future production capacity is expected to reach nearly 250 cages for aquaculture, with a projected production capacity of around 25,000 tonnes / year of fish of different types, in addition to the creation of more than 60 jobs.
“The wilaya of Boumerdès has huge investment capacity in this unique area of activity,” said the minister in his speech on this occasion.
The Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries has also noted the quality of investments planned for implementation in this area, particularly in the manufacture of boats of different types and other equipment necessary for the aquaculture activity.
“Fish production in Boumerdès is quite good,” said Bouazghi, planning to promote the region, in the future, “as a model” in the field.
About fifteen lots are for aquaculture projects, when the rest will be dedicated to fishing, it was explained.
