The first edition of the National Exhibition of Plastic Arts opened, Tuesday, at the Palace of Culture of the province of Skikda with the participation of 40 visual artists from across the country.

This event, which will run until Thursday, hosts about 200 paintings, dealing with different themes and representing various artistic trends. One third of the participating artists chose to exhibit portraits with a new look, like the skikdi artist Fouad Saâyoud, who, through his works, has highlighted African refugees.

Other paintings also showcase Algerian heritage, as well as historical and natural sites, such as those made by Chadlia Ferradji, who drew on the realistic movement to highlight the beauty of Ouargla region.

According to the director of Skikda Palace of Culture, Noureddine Boudemagh, this event aims to promote the exchange between Algerian visual artists and highlight all styles and artistic trends, emphasizing that the best works will be awarded at the end of this Salon.

It should be noted that the family of the late artist Noureddine Grine (1956-2018) was honored on this occasion.
