The 13th edition of the Festival of Andalusian and Ancient Music opened, on Tuesday evening, at Algiers Opera “Boualam Bessaih”, with a concert of Algerian-Spanish music.
Hosting the opening night with the Spanish group Ziryab Calo, “Hawzi” singer Hamidou enchanted the audience, in the early evening, with a panoply of songs, launched by the song “Ana Elledhi Biya” in the mode ” Inkilab Sika “, followed by” Ya Badi El Hassen “(Insiraf Sika) and” Ya men tara “(Qsid).
Later, the Spanish band Ziryab Calo, from Granada, led by singer and guitarist, Suhail Serghini, played several gypsy, spanish and oriental songs.
Inspired by the ancient Andalusian musical heritage, “Ziryab Calo”, whose musical style is a fusion of ancient oriental music and modern Spanish music (Flamenco and Copla), has transported the audience into a world of wonder where sound is the king (guitar, flute and Oud).
For his part, the Minister of Culture, Azzedine Mihoubi said that this event was distinguished by the participation of artistic groups from different continents.
As a reminder, the 13th edition of the Andalusian and Ancient music festival continues until December 25.
