50-plus export contracts sealed under exhibitions of Algerian products abroad

Over 50 export contracts have been sealed during exhibitions of Algerian products abroad, Trade Minister Said Djellab announced Tuesday.

Speaking at a press conference he hosted on the sidelines of a national meeting on the promotion of non-hydrocarbon exports, Mr. Djellab said that in addition to the fifty contracts signed between Algerian exhibitors and foreign operators, negotiations are underway for the signature of other agreements.

These exhibitions were organized in 2018 in the United States, Belgium, Gabon, Senegal, Qatar and Egypt.

According to him, the organization of Algerian product shows was decided by an interministerial committee headed by the Ministry of Commerce.

The host countries of these exhibitions are chosen, in particular, on the basis of the study of the needs of the markets of these countries with an obvious preference for the African countries.

“We will continue our tour in Africa between 2019 and 2020. We plan to organize 25 Algerian product shows in African countries, all the countries of the world want to place their products on the African market, it is time for us to do so.”

Regarding 2018’s fairs, the minister said that foreign operators “appreciated” Algerian products in terms of quality and price.
