Housing, Urbanism and City Minister Abdelwahid Temmar will take part in the 5th Arab Housing Conference on Tuesday, December 11-12, at the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Mr. Timmar will present two projections at the 35th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Urban Planning, the first on the experience of Algeria in “diversification of housing offers” and the second on “the social responsibility of private sector enterprises in the implementation of assisted housing projects”.The 5th Arab Conference on Housing aims to shed light on the role of the public and private sectors in guaranteeing social housing.
The meeting will also examine the mechanisms needed to balance the potentialities and resources of states with the challenges in terms of social housing.
Held under the patronage of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the conference is organised by the Ministry of Housing in cooperation with the Arab Housing and Construction Ministers’ Council.
Themed “the Future Role of the Public Sector in Social Housing”, the two-day event will discuss four main topics, namely the revision of housing policies and programmes that support sustainable urban development, the mechanisms to enhance the role of the private sector in the provision of social housing projects, facilitating the citizen’s access to appropriate financing for housing ownership, and the experiences of countries that have adopted partnership initiatives with the private sector.
