The Minister of Energy, Mustapha Guitouni, received, Monday in Algiers, the Angolan Secretary of State for External Relations, responsible for international cooperation and Angolan communities, Domingos Custodio Vieira Lopes, said the ministry in a statement.
During this meeting held on the sidelines of the preparatory meeting for the 5th session of the Algerian-Angolan Joint Cooperation Committee (8-9 December in Algiers), the two sides discussed the investment opportunities in the two countries and concrete actions to establish win-win partnerships in the areas of hydrocarbons, oil services and training, according to the same source.
They also discussed the implementation of the recommandations of the last Algerian-Angolan joint commission held in July 2011 and reviewed the progress of the work of the working group composed of representatives of the two countries, set up in September, July 2013 following the visit of the Minister of Energy to Angola during the same period.
In this regard, the Minister called for revitalizing the joint working group to promote cooperation between the national oil company Sonatrach and the Angolan group Sonangol, in the field of hydrocarbon exploration / production and in the petrochemical field.
The two sides also exchanged on the evolution of the oil markets and the continuation of the dialogues between the two countries, in particular within the OPEC, in favor of the stability of the oil markets.
