Energy Minister Guitouni elected deputy chairman of OPEC


OPEC meeting has unanimously elected, in Vienna, Austria, Minister of Energy Mustapha Guitouni as deputy chairman of the petroleum organization, a position that will take effect from 1 January 2019, the ministry said in a statement.

On the same occasion, the Venezuelan Minister of Petroleum, Manuel Salvador Quevedo Fernandez, was appointed as Chairman of this organization as of 1 January 2019, added the same source.

As a reminder, the OPEC and non-OPEC countries announced Friday, in Vienna, a common drop in production of 1.2 million barrels / day to adjust prices.
