A cooperation agreement has been signed Tuesday in Algiers by the National Education Ministry and German embassy to Algiers, aiming at promoting the teaching of German Language.
This convention aims to broaden the bilateral action within the framework of “Common schools” also called “Bosch program”, said Ms. Benghabrit, referring to a possible increase in the number of common schools currently available at 5 wilayas of the country, namely: Ouargla, Oran, Constantine, Algiers and Annaba.
The first person in charge of the education sector also discussed the possibility of strengthening bilateral cooperation, through the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in the training of trainers in German language.
The German ambassador to Algiers expressed, for her part, “the determination of her country to intensify cooperation between the two parties, particularly in the field of teaching German language”, welcoming on this occasion ” interest expressed by students in learning German and their desire to open up to Germanic culture “.
The diplomat also recalled the visit by German Chancellor Angela Merkel to Algeria last September.
As a reminder, the number of students in German classes reached 35,000 learners, spread over 39 wilayas, supervised by some 700 teachers, the statement concluded.
