The 12th edition of the National Festival of Comic Theater, dedicated this year to the comedian artist Tayeb Abou El-Hassane, will be held from 3 to 7 December in Medea, announced, Saturday, the Festival Commissioner, Said Benzergua.
Seven theatrical troupes, selected for the final competition, will try to impress the jury of the Festival, composed of comedians Ahmed Khoudi, Dalila Nouar and Salah Ougroute, and at the same time try to seduce the audience to win the “Golden bunch”.
The 12th edition of the festival will also be marked by the organization, as part of the out-of-competition program, of fifteen theatrical performances and monologues, said Said Benzergua, during a press briefing.
It is also planned to organize discussions panel and workshops on radio drama and humor as a means of social reintegration, especially since the event will coincide, this year, with the celebration of the World Day of People with Special Needs, he said.
On the occasion of this event, a posthumous tribute will be paid to the artist and talented actor Tayb Abou El-Hassane, whose real name is Tayeb Maarouf, considered in the artistic world as the “twin brother” of the great comedian Hassan al-Hassani.
Tayeb Abu el-Hassane, who spent five years in prison in Serkadji, during the occupation, because of his political commitment, rubbed shoulders with big names in the fourth Algerian art, including Mahieddine Bachtarzi and Rouiched, and Hassan-el-Hassani “Boubagra”.
