Algeria is almost ready for the internationalization of its products and will declare 2019 the national Year of non-hydrocarbon exports, Trade Minister, Said Djellab announced Monday in Algiers.

“Algeria is almost ready to promote non-hydrocarbon exports and we will declare 2019 the year of non-hydrocarbon export,” Djellab told a press conference held on the sidelines of the International Transport and Logistics Exhibition ( Logistique 2018), which runs from November 26 to 29 at the Palais des expositions in Algiers.

The minister considered that Algeria has all the assets to position itself on foreign markets.

“We have the necessary infrastructure, industrial and agricultural diversification that will allow us to place our products on foreign markets,” he pointed out, saying that his trips abroad (in recent times) have allowed to explore markets in order to impose the local product internationally.

In addition to the European market, which is demanding Algerian products including agricultural and agri-food, the minister assured that the operators have the possibility of moving towards other regions of the world including Africa, the North America, Russia and Asia.

For the Minister of Trade, nonhydrocarbon exports would enable the country to achieve sustainable economic growth by reducing its heavy dependence on hydrocarbons.
