Participants in the 2nd International Conference of African Member Organizations of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) themed “Africa’s involvement in addressing the migration crisis”, organized by the African Parliament in collaboration with the National Association for Youth Exchanges (ANEJ) and “Initiative Agenda 2063” collective at the International Conference Centre (ICC), Member of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), highlighted the importance of achieving peace, security and political stability in the African continent to strengthen the role of the state, put an end to crises, reduce immigration and fight against terrorism, hostage-taking and human trafficking.

The speakers at a workshop organized under the theme “Involving Africa to cope with the migration crisis” were unanimous in saying that “the crises that the majority of countries are experiencing have caused the deterioration of the security and political situation and have made new challenges beyond the capabilities of these countries that require mobilization, such as; illegal immigration, terrorism, violence, human trafficking, kidnappings, arms “.

Lack of communication among agencies of the international community, blockages of channels between governments, civil society and peoples have slowed the momentum for serious solutions to the various problems.

Algeria is hosting the second international conference of African organizations Ecosoc, under the theme “Africa’s involvement in addressing the migration crisis“, to be held from 19 to 21 November.

According to the organizers, Algiers conference is aimed at “strengthening interstate exchanges and cooperation between African countries and in the South-South zone”, also making recommendations to ensure “the sustainability of the regulations, policies and strategies for development “.
