PM Ouyahia holds, in Addis Ababa, fruitful discussions with South African President


Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia met Saturday, in Addis Ababa, on the sidelines of the 11th African Union Extraordinary Summit, with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa to whom he transmitted a fraternity and friendship message from President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika.

During their meeting, both officials highlighted the need to hold, before the end of the year in Algiers, the Algerian-South African Joint Commission, under the chairmanship of the two foreign ministers, with a view to continuing the efforts of the two countries aimed at consolidating and further diversifying the strategic partnership between Algeria and South Africa.

Discussions also focused on issues of common interest, including topics on the African and international levels.

For his part, President Ramaphosa instructed Mr. Ouyahia to convey his fraternal sentiments and consideration to President Bouteflika, wishing him and the Algerian people full progress.

It is worth mentioning that Mr. Ouyahia is in Addis Ababa as part of his participation in the 11th African Union extraordinary summit.
