2nd Conference of African NGOs from 19 to 21 November 2018 in Algiers


The 2nd Conference of African NGOs, members of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), will be held from 19 to 21 November 2018 in Algiers with the participation of about 300 representative.

Co-organized by the African Parliament, civil society and the National Association of Youth Exchanges (Anej), in collaboration with the Collective of African Students in Algeria “Initiative Agenda 2063”, this event is placed under the theme “Civil-Public Private Partnership for Entrepreneurship and Youth Employability, Innovation and Inclusive and Sustainable Industrialization”, its initiators announced at a lively press conference in Algiers.

It is, moreover, placed under the slogan “All together for a prosperous Africa and the world we want”, and sets as objectives, in particular, “the pooling of the actions and resources of the state actors, economic and civil society of the continent, the definition of a common strategy in the face of the migration crisis as well as the creation of a platform aiming at a permanent and structured dialogue within the civil society “, detailed the same source.

The meeting also aims to make the voice of Africa heard in anticipation of the 11th World Forum on Migration and Development and the International Conference on Migration (CIM 2018), scheduled for December in Morocco.

The Algiers conference is also aimed at “strengthening exchanges and inter-state cooperation between African countries”, they added, pointing out the development of recommendations to guarantee “the sustainability of regulations, policies and development strategies “.

On the menu of this meeting, conferences, debates and other workshops on the themes of migration, the fight against poverty and the empowerment of women in Africa will be held.

According to Anej president, Ali Sahli, also president of the Organizing Committee of this 2nd edition, this conference promises to be “an event for the African civil society”.
