20th GECF Ministerial Meeting: Energy Minister in Trinidad and Tobago on 14 November


The Minister of Energy, Mustapha Guitouni, will take part in the 20th Ministerial Meeting of the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries (GECF), on November 14th in Port of Spain (Trinidad and Tobago), said, on Wednesday, the Ministry’s press release.


At this meeting, which will mark the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the GECF, the ministers of the member states will discuss, among other important topics, the role of gas in the world economy, future trends of the energy markets as well as the GECF annual statistical bulletin to be published in December 2018, added the same source.

Meantime, Mr. Guitouni will deliver, on November 13, a speech on natural gas and energy conservation, during a special Symposium, organized by the GECF in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries of Trinidad and Tobago.

Energy ministers, who are members of GECF, and heads of international energy organizations, such as; the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE) and the International Gas Union (IGU) will part take in this economic rendez-vous.

As a reminder, the 19th Ministerial Meeting of the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries was held in October 2017 in Moscow to discuss the state of the global market and develop a common strategy for the 2018-2022 period.

At this ministerial meeting, it was officially decided that Algeria should house the future headquarters of the gas research institute.
