Reforms initiated by President Bouteflika enabled achieving MDGs

Deputy Speaker of the People’s National Assembly Mourad Haliss affirmed Tuesday, in Dubrovnik (Croatia), that the “reformist approach” initiated by President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika played an “efficient role” in the creation of a multi-dimensional momentum that contributed to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) within the allotted time (2015), said a communiqué of the Parliament’s Lower House.

“The reformist approach initiated by President Abdelaziz Bouteflika had an effective role in creating a multidimensional dynamic that helped achieve the Millennium Development Goals within the allotted time (2015),” said Mr. Haliss during the work of the Parliamentary Conference on “Strengthening democratic security in the Mediterranean, common challenges and shared responsibility”.

The vice-president of the APN explained, moreover, that Algeria “has experienced” since the beginning of the third millennium “major changes in infrastructure”, initiated by the head of state ” to take a giant step in the political, legal, economic, social, cultural and diplomatic spheres “, adding that the country” has launched huge reforms and modernization projects, like the reform of the justice system, the education system and higher education.

In this regard, Mr. Haliss said that these reforms “contributed to strengthening the stability recovered by Algeria through the law of civil concord and the Charter for peace and national reconciliation.

Moreover, Mr. Haliss hailed the “professionalism” of  People’s National Army (ANP) in their “preventive” operations, calling it a “bulwark” in the face of the various threats lurking in neighboring countries.
