The Algerian products have “stronger presence” in Mauritania, Minister of Commerce Saïd Djellab, said Monday in Nouakchott.
A few hours before the kick-off of the event, the fair’s external spaces are experiencing a large influx of Mauritanian citizens from all over the country to discover the quality of Algerian products.
This edition will be crowned by the signing of several agreements in the sectors of the food industry, mechanical industries, electronics, chemical industries, hardware and plastic industries, in addition to agreements in the areas of services, such as transport and cooperation in the health sector.
In this context, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Algerian Society of Fairs and Exhibitions “Safex”, Tayeb Zitouni, reported a significant number of contracts that should be signed Tuesday night.
This fair is considered the largest economic event initiated by Algeria outside the country, said Zitouni, noting, in this regard, that the agreements to be signed will further strengthen relations cooperation and partnership between Algeria and Mauritania.
He added that economic operators have given a particular interest to this event because of its importance for access to African markets.
Algeria has deployed all material and logistical resources for the success of this event, said Zitouni, saying that despite some shortcomings, Algerian operators are determined to invest in new global markets.
More than 350 participants representing more than 170 Algerian companies take part in this fair. With regard to the considerable affluence of Mauritanian citizens, even before the opening of the fair, the same speaker explained that the Mauritanian citizen is well informed of the quality of Algerian products marketed in his country.
