The Minister of Culture, Azzedine Mihoubi, is taking part in the 21st Conference of Arab Culture Ministers, being held in Cairo.
Culture Minister delivered a speech, in which he highlighted the need to further strengthen Arab cultural security by enhancing the role of culture to counter extremism, intolerance and terrorism.
In this aspect, the official referred to the Algerian experience, calling for a cultural summit of Arab leaders to meet all the challenges Arab culture faces nowadays.
The 21st round of the conference of Arab Culture Ministers kicked off in Cairo under the auspice of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi.
This version, under the slogan “Al Quds “Jerusalem” is Palestinian, is being organized by Egyptian Culture Ministry in cooperation with the Arab League Education, Culture and Science Organization (ALECSO).
The two-day event is discussing a number of issues, including current challenges Arab culture faces today, the role of establishing an Arab identity, means and mechanism toward the region’s cultural production, and to promote dialogue and communication with the world.
It is worth mentioning that it is first time that Cairo hosts that conference after an absence for 27 years.
