Fair of Algerian products in Nouakchott: For better access to African markets


The Fair of the Algerian products, planned in late October in Nouakchott, would open the way for a stronger bilateral cooperation and allow “access to the African markets,” Commerce Ministry’s general secretary Cherif Oumari, on Wednesday in Algiers, said while launching the caravan “friendship bridges” towards the Mauritanian capital.

“This initiative is part of the Government’s strategy to promote non-hydrocarbon exports in accordance with the directives of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelaziz Bouteflika, and as part of the efforts to strengthen relations and rapprochement between the fraternal peoples of the region, “said the Minister of Commerce, Mr. Saïd Djellab, from Tindouf.

This trade event is not the first of its kind, a first trade fair for Algerian products was held last spring in the Mauritanian capital, registering the participation of more than 70 national companies from different economic and commercial sectors, many of which had been establish contacts with their Mauritanian counterparts for the conclusion of partnership agreements and the opening of subsidiaries in Mauritania, such as the National Society of Industrial Vehicles (SNVI) and other companies specialized in the pharmaceutical industry or in the marketing of pasta, juices and soft drinks.
