Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel has held talks over the weekend with his Irish counterpart, Simon Conveny, on the sidelines of the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Messahel discussed bilateral relations and ways to strengthen them. Both ministers expressed their commitment to working together to boost bilateral co-operation and further diversify ties.
Relations between Algeria and the European Union (EU) were also discussed by the two ministers, who exchanged views on other issues of common interest, notably the reform of the United Nations and the UN Security Council as well as issues on the agenda of the current General Assembly.
