Seven Algerian companies operating in industry, food processing and electronics have signed Tuesday evening in Washington contracts in a first step to export their products to the United States.
Group Condor, Amor Benamor mills, Faderco, Moussaoui Industrie, Safina from Group Metidji, Inotis and the Grands crus de l’ouest inked contracts with New Media Solutions, Inc, a firm specializing in online sale in the U.S.
The contracts have been signed on the sidelines of the Algerian Week in the U.S., in the presence of Minister of Commerce Said Djellab and President of the Algerian-US Business Council (USABC), Smail Chikhoune.
Under these contracts, New Media Solutions will help the Algerian companies sell their products on the American market, Chikhoune told APS.
The company possesses an online platform which links the international exporters and suppliers with the American dealers.
This is a first step which will be followed by further Algerian companies which look to export to the U.S., said the president of USABC.
To promote well their products, the seven companies have signed agreements with the Law Office Gabriel J. Christian & Associates, LLC which will help them have a custom-bonded area in Baltimore to store their goods.
Moreover, the Law Firm will create a bonded warehouse, called “La Maison Algérie” (the House of Algeria), as well as a showroom, and exhibit the Algerian products in specialized shows, added Chikhoune.
Ceo of Group Condor Abderrahmane Benhamadi, came to prospect new opportunities in the United States, expressed satisfaction with the momentum triggered by the Algerian week in Washington.
The Expo organized as part of the Week allowed the Algerian leader of the household appliances to assess the American consumers’ reaction and acceptance of the Algerian products, Condor boss told APS.
However, there were still efforts to make so to adapt to the US market’s technical specificities t, especially voltage standards, he said.
Benhamadi is optimistic about his group’s ability to embark on this highly competitive market. Condor will focus on the competitive price of its products that meet international standards.
“In the United States, we have large opportunities in the air conditioning segment, dominated by a single Japanese operator,” said Benhamadi whose group is present in France and several African countries.
For the purposes of this commercial exploration, the Algerian group plans to strengthen its participation in specialized fairs organized in the United States.
“You just have to refine a plan and have goals,” he concluded.
