CAN 2019: Algerian national team arrives in Banjul to face Gambian opponents


Algerian national football team arrived, Thursday in Banjul, where they will face their Gambian opponents Saturday evening, in Africa Cup of Nations qualifier (Group D, 2nd day).

The Algerian football delegation, led by the president of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF), Kheireddine Zetchi, left Algiers Thursday afternoon to the Gambian capital from Algiers.

It is composed of 24 players including a single local: Abdelkader Bedrane (ES Setif) who is replacing Ayoub Abdelaoui (FC Sion) absent due to an injury.

Only one training session is on the agenda during their stay in Banjul. It will take place Friday at  Independence Stadium, (16:30 local time, 17:30 Algerian time).

To prepare for this match, Ryad Mahrez’s partners have been gathering since Monday at the FAF technical center in Sidi-Moussa. Training session scheduled for Thursday morning was canceled by national coach Djamel Belmadi for ” technical reasons ”.
