PM Ouyahia hands over message from President Bouteflika to Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping

Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia has been received in Beijing by Chinese president Xi Jinping.

Ouyahia handed the Chinese President a message of President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika, in which the Head of the State welcomes “exceptional” quality of the Algerian-Chinese relations.

During his stay in Beijing, where he took part in the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, as the representative of the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister was received by the Chinese President, Xi Jinping, to whom he delivered a message from President Bouteflika, in which the Head of State “welcomes the exceptional quality of the Algerian-Chinese relations, reiterating his commitment to further strengthen them for the benefit of both countries and the two peoples”.

 

For his part, President Xi Jinping welcomed the state of Algerian-Chinese relations, “framed by the Global Strategic Partnership and the achievements of bilateral cooperation in various fields”.

 

The Chinese official expressed his country’s readiness to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries, welcoming   the accession of Algeria to “belt and road” initiative.

Ouyahia also congratulated the Chinese President for “the success of the 3rd Summit of Forum on China-Africa Cooperation , which was marked by the adoption of the Beijing Declaration and a Plan of Action for the period 2019-2021 “.

The Chinese President has instructed Mr. Ouyahia to convey his “warm greetings” to the President of the Republic, wishing  happiness and progress to the friendly Algerian people.

The hearing was attended by Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel.
