Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia left Algiers for Beijing representing President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika in the 3rd Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), scheduled on 3-4 September 2018, said Sunday a communiqué of the Prime Minister’s Office.
Prime Minister Ouyahia is accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdelkader Messahel. This latter attended, on Sunday, the 7th FOCAC Ministerial Conference, which was co-chaired by South African Minister of International Relations and Co-operation Lindiwe Sisulu and Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi.
During the ministerial conference, attendees assessed the implementation of the co-operation programmes agreed at previous meetings of FOCAC, especially the 2nd FOCAC Summit, held in Johannesburg in Decemviri 2015.
In this aspect, the African ministers emphasized the importance for this co-operation to meet the expectations of African countries.
The ministerial conference adopted projects expected to be included in the Beijing Declaration to be adopted at this week’s summit and a 2019-2021 action plan which will be submitted to the Summit of Heads of State and Government.
