Cholera: 74 confirmed cases, epidemic confined in Blida province only


The ministry of Health, Population and Hospital Reform said, on Friday, that, until Thursday,  August 30th, 74 cases of cholera have been confirmed.

According to the Ministry, 74 cases of cholera have been confirmed  since August 7th.

The distribution of cases by province are as follows: Bouira three cases, Blida 39 cases, Tipasa 15, Algiers 15 cases, Medea one case and Ain Defla one case too.

132 patients left the hospital, “after their full recovery”, added the ministry in a report on the situation.

The epidemic “is now confined in the province of Blida” and “all the hospitalized patients at El Kettar hospital can be released following full recovery,” said the source

The health control system set up by the ministry since the outbreak of the epidemic “is still in force until the eradication of the disease” and the prevention measures, notably the application of the individual and community hygiene practices “must continue to curb the disease spread.”
