Merzak Allouache to present latest film “Divine Wind” in Toronto

The feature film “Vent Divin” or “Divine Wind”, the latest film of director Merzak Allouache, was selected for the 43rd Toronto International Film Festival (Canada), scheduled for September 6-16, organizers announced on their website.

 

Directed and written by Merzak Allouache, “Divine Wind” was finalized less than a month ago, according to the filmmaker who starred, in his film, Sarah Layssac, Messaouda Boukhira Mohamed Oughlis, Hacene Benzerari and Abdelatif Benahmed .

Lasting 93 minutes, the film, in black and white, explores the troubled psychology of Amine, a taciturn young man living in a small Saharan village where he spends most of his time reading the Koran and praying before meeting Nour, a fragile young woman.

 

Created in 1976 by a cultural association, the Toronto International Film Festival, a non-competitive event, is recognized as one of the major film events in the world in view of the attendance of the public and film professionals.
