President of the Tunisian Hotel Federation (FTH) Khaled Fakhfakh, on Saturday, affirmed that the Algerian market has contributed to reviving tourism in Tunisia.
The President pointed out that the most important markets in Tunisia are: the Algerian, Russian and the French ones.
“The Algerian, Russian and French markets are the most important in terms of hotel bookings in Tunisia,” says Fakhfakh, stressing on the need to advance cooperation between tourism professionals in Tunisia and Algeria for the preparation for the next tourism season in this country.
For his part, the President of the Tunisian Federation of Travel Agencies (FTAV), Jabeur Ben Attouch revealed the number of Algerian tourists who paid a visit to Tunisia up to july 20 this year, which hit 1.2808 million, an increase of 17.7 per cent compared to the same period last year.
On the other hand, the President of the National Union of Algerian Travel Agencies (SNAV), Said Boukhelifa, highlighted that Tunisia remains “the most attractive” destination for Algerians.
The official added that the number of Algerian tourists visiting Tunisia is expected to reach 2.2 million by the end of 2018.
Meetings will be scheduled between both countries’ tourism officials in order to assess the current summer travel season and better prepared for the next one, announced Boukhelifa.
