Africa Para-Powerlifting Championships: Algeria ranked 3rd with 13 medals


Algeria has been ranked third in the African para-powerlifting championship in the junior and senior categories (men / women), held in Harcha Hassane Hall (Algiers), with 13 medals, including (01) gold, (06) silver and (06) bronze.


“The results achieved by the Algerian athletes are very honorable,” said national coach Ben Atta Mohamed Salaheddine.

Egypt was at the lead with 18 medals including 13 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze. Nigeria has been ranked second with a total of 13 medals, including 11 gold and 2  silver.

The only Algerian gold medal was snatched by athlete Lamia Adra (63 kg).

The Africa Para-Powerlifting Championships (juniors and seniors) men and women, 2nd continental competition on the agenda of the World Para-power Lifting, kicked off Friday afternoon at Harcha Hacene sports hall (Algiers), with the participation of the best African athletes and 24 Algerians.
