Electricity: Algeria, Morocco to supply Tunisia with 300 MW

An agreement has been signed between the national electricity and gas company SONELGAZ, Morocco’s National Office for Electricity and Drinking Water and Tunisia’s Electricity and Gas Company (STEG) to supply Tunisia with electricity, said Sunday in Algiers the CEO of SONELGAZ, Mohamed Arkab.

This agreement was concluded last Friday in Tunisia to supply Tunisia with electricity, said Sunday in Algiers the CEO of SONELGAZ, pointed out the official during a press conference held after a meeting with the national companies specialized in the realization of electricity networks.

Asked about Sonelgaz’s activities in Libya, Mr. Arkab said it is mainly maintenance of electrical equipment in this country.

He also said that Algeria has a partnership project with the same country for the production of electricity in Libya.
