Counterterrorism: Three terrorists surrender to Military Authorities in Tamanrasset

As part of the fight against terrorism and thanks to the efforts of the units of People’s National Army, three (03) terrorists, in possession of three (03) Kalashnikov-type machine guns and eight (08) ammunition magazines, surrendered, today, Thursday, 05 July 2018, to the Military Authorities in Tamanrasset, said a statement from the Ministry of National Defense.

The terrorists are:
* “Leksir Ahmed” alias “Sharaf Eddin”, who joined the terrorist groups in 2012.
* “Lansari El-Taib” alias “Abu Hamza”, who joined the terrorist groups in 2012.
* “Sekkouni Mohamed”, alias “Abu Yahia”, who joined the terrorist groups in 2014.

As part of the fight against smuggling and organized crime, detachments of the ANP intercepted, during separate operations in Bordj Badji Mokhtar and In Guezzam, (05) miners and seized one (01 ) truck, one (01) all-terrain vehicle, (2.9) tonnes of food, (400) liters of fuel, (09) generators and (07) jackhammers.

In the same context, the Coast Guard seized, in Mostaganem, (30) kilograms of treated Hashish, while elements of the National Gendarmerie arrested an individual in possession of two (02) homemade rifles in Batna.

In addition, the coastguards foiled in Annaba and Skikda, two attempts to smuggle (23) people aboard two small craft boats, while (27) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were intercepted in Tlemcen and Ghardaia.
