The National Council of the RND (National Democratic Rally), the second ruling party in the country, issued an official statement, calling the incumbent President of the Republic, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, to run for a 5th presidential term.
At the end of RND’s National Council’s ordinary session, which kicked off on Thursday, June 21, the RND issued an official appeal to the President of the Republic, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, to run for a fifth presidential term.
“The National Council urges the Mujahid Abdelaziz Bouteflika to respond to the many calls, urging him to carry on his mission as the leader of the country.”
Earlier, in a speech delivered at the closing session of the National Council of the RND, Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia reiterated his appeal for the President Bouteflika to run for a fifth term in 2019 to continue his mission as head of state.
“I urge the President to continue leading Algeria so as to maintain the country’s stability and peace as well as preserve its interests,” highlighted the Prime Minister.
