Algerian singer, interpreter of word music, Souad Massi, will sing at the 36th International Festival of Bizerte (North of Tunisia), scheduled from July 12 to August 17, announced the organizers.
The artist will sing alongside the singers of rai Fayçal Seghir and Cheb Wahid and the Algerian-born French rapper “Algerino”, the Tunisian singer Amina Fakhet ond the Lebanese artist Elissa .
Considered as one of the most famous Algerian voices in Europe, Souad Massi began her career in the 1990s, before moving to France where she has established herself as a singer and guitarist.
Her first album “Raoui” (Storyteller), released in 2001, was a great success. Her lyrics, which she draws from the musical and poetic heritage of Algeria, Western and Eastern, are carried by sounds that combine different musical genres, including chaabi, pop and folk music.
The 2018 edition of the Bizerte Festival will be marked by the participation of internationally renowned artists and music troupes. In addition to music, the program also includes theater performances such as “Mdak” and “Madame Kenza” as well as “Mouch normal”.
