Putin offers condolences to president Bouteflika over military plane crash

Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a message of condolences to President Abdelaziz Bouteflika over  the military transport plane carsh in the periphery of Boufarik airport.

As the Kremlin’s press-service has said, “the Russian head of state addressed the relatives and dear ones of the victims with words of sincere sympathy and support.”

Up to 257 people, including members of Western Sahara’s Polisario independence movement, were killed when a military plane crashed in a field outside Algeria’s capital on Wednesday, officials said.

Television footage showed crowds gathering around the smoking and flaming wreckage near Boufarik airport.
