A military plane crashed, this morning, April, 11, 2018, in the periphery of the military airport of Boufarik, in the province of Blida.
The plane belongs to People’s National Army forces. This tragic accident took place at around 08:00 a.m ( local time).
In this aspect, Internet users shared photos and videos of the huge smoke near the military airport of Boufarik.
As regards the death toll, no statements have been released yet.
The transport plane plummeted to the ground shortly after taking off at Boufarik Airport in Algeria, according to local media.
The Algerie Presse service agency said the Iliouchine-type plane was headed for Bechar in south-western Algeria.

“It was with deep regret the Government received news of the military plane crash,” said, on Wednesday, April, 11, 2018, a statement from the Prime Minister Offices.
14:00- President Bouteflika sends a message of condolences to the families of crash victims.
“The Almighty, whose will is unavoidable, has wanted today to put to the test Algeria and its military institution through a crash of one of its planes, resulting in a large number of martyrs of national duty, a tragedy that has deeply grieved us,” President Bouteflika said in the message.
“In this painful ordeal, we can only resign ourselves to the will of Allah and offer to the families of the victims, and the whole Algerian people our most heartfelt condolences and most sincere feelings of compassion and sympathy, praying to the Almighty to fill the victims with His mercy and include them among the martyrs and the righteous in His vast paradise.”
“Exhorting the victims’ families to ask Allah for strength and courage, I assure them that I will be at their side to alleviate their sorrow and their pain,” the head of State said, concluding with the Holy Qur’an verses: “… give good tidings to the patient, who, when disaster strikes them, say “Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.”

Presidents from several countries, including Iran, Russia, Armenia, France, Spain, Palestine and Kuwait, offered condolences to President Abdelaziz Bouteflika over the crash of a military plane near Boufarik airport, which left 257 killed.
“President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika has given instructions to perform the funeral prayer for the absent in the memory of the victims of Wednesday’s military plane crash,” added the communiqué.
“All mosques of the Republic will perform the funeral prayer for the absent after Friday’s prayer in accordance with President’s instructions,” said the Ministry’s communiqué.
