Work of 37th session of PAPU Administrative Council opens in Algiers

The work of the 37th session of the Board of Directors of the Pan-African Postal Union (PAPU) began, Tuesday in Algiers, in the presence of the Minister of Post, Telecommunications and Digital Technology, Imane-Houda Faraoun.

This Council is being held in Algeria for the first time following the memorandum of understanding, signed on January 18, between Mrs. Faraoun and the Secretary General of PAPU, Younouss Djibrine.

The Council is expected to adopt the report of its 36th session, held from 8 to 10 May 2017 in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi.

It will, therefore, validate the reports and recommendations of the administrative and technical committees, and will decide on the theme of the Pan-African Post Day for the year 2019.

The Pan-African Union of Posts-PAPU is a specialized agency of the African Union, in charge of coordinating postal services development activities in Africa.
