Algeria is the leading trading partner of Turkey in Africa with a volume of trade of US$3.5 billion, said Thursday in Ankara, Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel.
“Algeria is Turkey’s first African partner and trade between the two countries is $ 3.5 billion,” Messahel told a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut. Cavusoglu.
Messahel, who is on an official visit to Turkey, noted that the meeting with his Turkish counterpart “has allowed both sides to make an assessment on the state of bilateral cooperation and the ways and means to further develop it”.
He said, in this context, that 796 Turkish companies, employing more than 28,000 people, “are present in Algeria”.
The interview between Messahel and his Turkish counterpart highlighted “the shared desire” to expand the new promising areas, as part of the win-win partnership between the two countries.
