Algeria to replace current banknotes, confirms Finance Minister

Finance Minister Abderrahmane Raouya confirmed today, Tuesday, February 13, the government’s intention to replace at least three types of Algerian dinar banknotes.

 

Speaking Tuesday in front of People’s National Assembly, the Minister of Finance confirmed that his Ministry “will work to replace the banknotes of 100 DA, 500 DA and 1000 DA”.

In early January, DZ Breaking revealed that the government will gradually withdraw banknotes, starting with those of 200 and 500 AD, then 1,000 and 2,000 AD before the end of 2018.
