Celebration of Sakiet Sidi Youcef events, opportunity to “strengthen exceptional relationship between our two peoples”


Premier Ahmed Ouyahia said, Thursday in Tunisia, that the commemoration of the memory of the two countries’ martyrs that fell on the battlefield in the bombing of Sakiet Sidi Youcef on 8 February 1958 was an opportunity to “maintain and strengthen this exceptional relationship between our two peoples and countries”.

In his address in the commune of Sakiet Sidi Youcef before the Tunisian delegation led by Prime Minister Youcef Chahed, Mr. Ouyahia stressed that “the memory of our common martyrs that brings us today in Sakiet Sidi Youcef “.

The Prime Minister added that Algerian-Tunisian relations “reached, in recent years, the stage of excellence under the direction of our two heads of state, Abdelaziz Bouteflika and Beji Caid Essebssi”.

He also affirmed that the numerous challenges undergone by Algeria and Tunisia “have strengthened the solidarity and cooperation between our two countries in all fields”, assuring that “our security forces cooperate closely against the threat of terrorism that does not know borders “.

Ouyahia emphasized that the two Algerian and Tunisian governments “are working together to expand cooperation and exchanges in all sectors”.
