Algerian Malik Maaza Receives AU Scientific Excellence Award


Algerian professor Malik Maaza received, Sunday in Addis Ababa, the African Union Scientific Excellence Award “Kwame N’krumah of the Year 2017”, awarded annually to African scientists  for their research in various fields of technology and human sciences.

Maaza has been honored by the African Union and UNESCO for his nanotechnology research work in South Africa.

The ceremony was held during the opening session of the 30th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the African Union.

On this occasion, Mr. Maaza has also been congratulated by the Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia who represented the President of the Republic, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, at the AU summit taking place in the Ethiopian capital.
