Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdelkader Messahel, has stressed, on Wednesday in Algiers, on the “need” to achieve “a common definition” of terrorism, calling for “a strengthening” of national, regional and international means to combat terrorism and transnational organized crime, APS reported.

“There is also a need to reach a common definition of terrorism, as is the case with transnational organized crime,” Messahel said at the opening of the first regional meeting of the World Anti-Terrorism Forum(GCTF) on the links between terrorism and transnational organized crime, co-organized by Algeria and the Netherlands.

He argued on occasion for “strengthening national, regional and international means to combat these scourges”, stressing that “strong legal arsenals exist to address each of these two scourges, but the effort remains to be made to cover the relationship between them”.
